Germany’s President Election

'It’s about the election of the President of Germany, which usually takes place every five years. The graphic shows how many members of which party are in the Federal Convention. Also, the votes and the winners of the so far 13 elections are shown. There is an interesting trend that becomes visual with this representation: back in 1949—at the first election—there were many smaller and more extreme parties of the left and the right. Until the turnaround in 1990, the major parties got stronger, and the Greens Party emerged. After that, there were many more leftists, and again a few right wing members.'
